On January 18, 2013 FTE founder Francis Brochon was invited as a guest speaker at the TEDX Lausanne event in Lausanne, Switzerland. Under the heading, “What if we do(n’t)?, event organizers called upon innovative and intrepid individuals across industries that have “dared to make difficult decisions in times of uncertainty, to question conventional wisdom, and to drive their ideas forward in the interest of a better world”.

Francis Brochon provided an insightful and inspiring talk about how FTE is making an impact in the developing world through innovative education models. Taking the audience through the beginning days of FTE, the successes of KIITEC and concrete steps for the future, the talk shares a powerful story of how the determination, focus and energy of a few dedicated individuals can have a dramatic influence on the lives of many.

“In the spirit of ideas worth spreading, TEDx is a program of local, self-organized events that bring people together to share a TED-like experience. At a TEDx event, TEDTalks video and live speakers combine to spark deep discussion and connection in a small group. These local, self-organized events are branded TEDx, where x = independently organized TED event”.
